LightWing Productions was formed by Bill Liscomb in 2005. Bill has been interested in non-powered flight for over 40 years.  Starting with radio controlled gliders, Bill then moved on to become one of the pioneers of modern hang gliding, and flew hang gliders from 1971 thru 1994.  From 1998 to today, Bill has been flying sailplanes, and has earned Diamond Badge #977.

Out and Return is LightWing Productions first release. This little film does a great job of showing "a day in the life of a glider pilot" - from pulling the glider out of the trailer and assembling it with the aide of a one-man rigging system, to aero-towing, flying an out and return flight and then landing back home and rolling up to the trailer.  It is great for those interested in what soaring is about, or for showing your friends what you do in a typical day at the gliderport.  There are many shots from inside and outside the glider - including the beautiful mountainous scenery around Warner Springs, California, USA.  The featured glider is a 304 CZ and the pilot and producer is Bill Liscomb.  Out and Return received a Platinum (first place) award at the Houston International Film Festival in 2007.

In Big Blue Sky, Bill shows us what it was like to be a part of the early days of hang gliding.  It was an extraordinary time, full of extraordinary people doing amazing things flying their gliders. The artwork for the DVD and the poster were done by Robbie Adkins, a pioneer pilot in the early days. On the gallery page of this website, you can see her launching her black glider with the bird logo inserts in the sail.  Robbie also created the beautiful poster that is available in our store.
